Live-fire and classroom instruction will take place at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office range in Moss Point, Mississippi. Students will work through a structured progression of instruction that includes rifle setup and zero confirmation, ballistic fundamentals, positional shooting, observation and communication, and practical sniper employment. Once rifles are confirmed, shooters will engage steel and paper targets from 25 to 600 yards using a variety of techniques and operational scenarios. Successful completion of the full five-day program is required to earn the Zero Theory Law Enforcement Sniper Certificate. Enrollment is limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants must ensure their schedules are clear and their equipment is prepared. This course is restricted to law enforcement and military personnel. Daily start time is 0800. Note – Mississippi law enforcement officers/agents will receive 40 hours of continuing education credit for this course through MS BLEOST. Law enforcement officers/agents from reciprocal states may receive credit as well.
